Latest and Greatest NewsOk. So now that you are reading this, you are probably wondering why JP has a newsletter. What more can he tell us about his life that we don’t already read in his short tales or in his running blog? Well to you, the reader, I can definitely say there is so much more. This newsletter will be published on a regular/ irregular basis and only when my mind crosses something that I would like to share with my readers that would not stretch into a short tale of 500 words or so. And basically that’s what the newsletter will be about. And now that I’ve bored you with all my reasons for the newsletter, let’s get it on with the fun stuff. Back in AprilThe guitar picture on the left was a birthday present I got from my wife Nancy in April. And let me tell you this guitar is not only one of the best looking guitars I’ve ever owned over the past 30 years, it is also one of the best playing. I had a sneaky suspicion that I might get it, but I wasn’t sure. And actually the whole day was an absolute blast! That morning Nancy made me banana pancakes for breakfast (my favorite), then we went and played 18 holes of golf at a local course in Loganville (she beat me as usual, but it was still fun). Afterwards we got cleaned up and went to an Italian restaurant where I got a free dinner because it was my birthday. We finished our desert, and then she looked me right in the eye and said, “Let’s go look at that guitar you want.” We did, and I got it. Next to the day we got married, this had to be the best day in my life so far.
Last WeekNancy and I went to pickup dinner on the way home Wednesday and watch some TV. The restaurant had no speaker or mic to place your order. Instead we just drove up to the window. The girl who took our order smiled, but before she could utter a word, I said, “We brought out appetites with us, you got any food in there?” Without skipping a beat, she smiled and said, “Yes, I knew you were coming by.” After we placed our food order, she asked us what we wanted to drink. Nancy ordered a diet soda and I order a sweet tea. When she handed it to me, I asked, “Is this tea so sweet, it makes honey bees jealous?” That made her pause, but only for a moment when she replied, “Yes, it sure does.” In the futureI have never been that much into science fiction, although I am enjoying a few shows on the Sci-Fi channels these days. But what I am addressing in this section are my future plans for the website. Those are listed to the left. Nancy in the kitchen will simply be a link that will display her culinary talents with the recipes of some of the outstanding things she has made that particular week. I am often questioned about writing, music, the stars and the moon, and I will have a FAQ link that will address those questions. A feedback link will be given that when you feel like you need to report an error with a link, a typo within the site, or just want to vent in general about life, me, or the website, you will be able to do that here - - or should I say there? Regardless it is in the works and will be available sooner or later. Probably later because I am doing all the coding myself and also having to write new tales and work on editing my manuscript. OK enough whining for now, I’ve got to get back to writing…. J.P. |
